  1. This is the correct thing to do. Try to solve the situation as individuals first. Take that as far as you can. The one who loses their cool will not be in the laws favor. Stay calm like an ice cube. Then if you have to go to the authorities, you have displayed that you; thought the issue out, took appropriate and professional steps, and then finally had to escalate to the law. This also shows that you did not just go the law as a whiner but as responsible, smart individual. Sorry to hear about this situation and am sure it will come out in your favor.
  2. Correct as a whole but narrowing down to the actual individuals would start a weeding out process since there are a couple good ones. * * * A sportsmens bill is not supposed to have involvement at the federal level. The flow chart is: The role of the federal government can be found in Article 1, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution (http://www.law.corne...ution/articlei). If a proposed law does not fall under here, then it is relegated to the 10th Amendment. It is by not following the rule of law of this Republic, is at the heart of this nations precipice. * * * To understand the General Welfare clause some research is needing in reading the actual documentation of the Founding Fathers and what that clause means and consists of. Over the centuries that clause has been misinterpreted and therefore contributing to not adhering to the proper role of government.
  3. Agreed, that is what did me in on my only shot I could of had so far. Looks like some SSW and WSW for the weekend with some strong wind.
  4. 9x. Saturday some shots before 7am. 8:30, a decent number of shots. Rest of the day, practically nothing. And especially in the hollow I am in. Saw a spike around 300 yards. Sunday, practically nothing. The most in the early again. Seems like the mother was shot not far from me and her little one passed in front. Just to small to take. Saw another deer later in the day at the top of the ridge about 500 yards. Got out of the stand around 1pm and stillhunted to where I saw a large top of a back moving in the new growth for a couple seconds. No tail and run so I think it was a buck who saw me first and walked away. Stalked to cut off at the pass but when I got there, no deer. Must have turned back where it headed back into the thick stuff. Monday, had a doe and her little one start to come in but the wind had me right at them. I was aiming when they tailed off. * * * General comment. Way less shooting than over the last two decades here. It's been about 8 years since there was plenty of deer. I think that is part of the problem here. We just don't have the number of deer that used to be here. The DEC is trying too hard in worrying about starvation when it is probably no way even near that. I haven't come across a local who talks about when the deer were starving and a lot died off. I agree with some comments above. We have way more people in tree stands now. I am one of them. Getting older now so I am not working the woods anymore like I used to. I disagree with the rifles making a difference because, well, there are practically no deer being taken. Up until a decade or more ago. The rail would have 5 to 8 deer hanging in the first two days. No we having one to two deer for opening weekend. Doesn't matter about the weather. I just think there are less deer. And there have been no two dmp's for what, six or eight years now, am I correct on this? Heading out for the last four days of the week. My hunting ends on Sunday so it's either get some meat or not.
  5. Correct. This wake up needs to be directed for preparation in the man made issue. Monetary systems are finite and our nations monetary lifespan is coming to an end. This has taken close to 100 years to accomplish. The laws of economics do not care what the name of a country is. Over this decade, we will continue to need more Federal Reserve Notes (unbacked paper money) to purchase the same goods and services. Taxes and fees will continue to rise, this will not stop as long as we keep voting in establishment. Civil unrest is likely in the future due to the devaluing of our currency. So, some investment in specific goods and knowledge is needed. Those is cities and suburbs with no knowledge, will have problems. Think towards an agrarian system of self-reliance. Goods such as barrels to collect water, gravity feed water purifiers, learn to can food, learn to dehydrate food (dried last very long), learn to sprout; purchase / store seeds, powdered milk, and foods such as beans, rice, etc. Do this and your in great shape for disasters of any type. Here are three very short but educational videos on understanding how money is created, fractional reserve lending, our debt based monetary system, and the new super housing bubble that is being created due to QE3. * * * In 10 minutes, learn why the Federal Reserve System is the biggest scam in history and why you are it's victim. In simple and easy to understand analogies. Griffin does a great job here, Live at the march on the west lawn of the Capitol, D.C., 2008. I was present at this. Learn about our debt based currency and monetary system. Mike Maloney at the bankers conference in Russia 2011. Why the latest QE3, and its infinite bond purchases by the Fed is going to result in a higher cost of living for the middle class and poor. Economist Peter Schiff. * * * Hope you can learn why we cannot afford goods and services, just like I have. I am no one special. I am more on the poor side and cannot afford health insurance. I just wanted to learn why this nation is so screwed up and this is where it led me. The Fed is the core domino. Everything you can think of that is a problem, and deals with money, are the other dominoes in the chain reaction falling due to that first one. Just trying to help. Do your own research.
  6. There are some resaons. The media saturation of firearms as a threat to man has more people believing that guns are bad. I believe this is the number one reason. More posted signs.
  7. Disrespect for other folks in the woods. Example, they know who is in a stand. They will drive right through you. If they see someone standing by a tree waiting for deer, they will drive through them. Yelling in the woods. Locals call them Buffalo hunters. And heck, I'm from the Buffalo area. Respect in the woods to the hunting environment and fellow hunters is what defines a sportsmen hunter from my view. All around ethics, it's not just about following the law. *** They don't bowhunt, that is what intialliy got me into bowhunting.
  8. Mixed views. It is great to get youth involved. However, for our particular area where I hunt in Allegany county, the non-sportsmen hunters will have their kids in the woods giving it a terrific workover. This will be great for them to get an early start and drive the heck out of the woods. For three days on a holiday weekend. I believe they will spook the deer.
  9. 1 minute video: The wild shrimp is bought and I belong to a co-op for the milk. Great celebration dinner.
  10. Bolivar, WNY. 2nd weekend, 1st snow of season. Was on one of my stands where I can bino the surround peaks of the back on the hollow. There is also a nice logging road that the atv'rs use. Both days. Not a soul. No hunters. No atv's (which is actually good..) The point being, I have never seen that before. See deer on opening and next day but since then, naada. And, practically no shots.
