If I bail, it's because the dancing girls cancelled.

Gilli-liar used to be my rep. Total fraud. What is it again that you call a woman who does whatever you tell her for money? Yeah, that's her. I fully understand that Princess has all the votes he needs to pass his Progressive wish list, but we need to be heard. The numbers count. Otherwise the Dems just say, "Everyone in my district was for more gun control".

Common Roots Coffee Cup.

Everyone needs to take 10 minutes to call their Assemblyman and State Senator and make sure they know you're against every single one of the "SAFE Act 2" bills. Google the info if you're not sure who to call. It doesn't matter what side of the fence they're on because all numbers count. Some of these bills will absolutely cause law-abiding citizens to get arrested, lose their lawfully owned property and spend $10's of thousands in legal bills to clear their name. Reference the specific bill numbers (S=Senate version, A=Assembly version) below: S.2451/A.2689 - The "Red Flag" law. Essentially, any lawful citizen could have their firearms confiscated with nothing more than the say-so of another person. It is ripe for abuse to include being related to or living in proximity to someone who might be suspected of being a danger to themselves or others. The bill has no language to protect a person's Right to Due Process or a speedy trial! Those kids in Parkland didn't die because there was no law on the books to stop that shooter; they died because the Sheriff and his deputies knowingly ignored every single report of the shooter being a danger to those around him. S.2450/A.2686 - Safe storage law. SCOTUS already settled this in D.C. v Heller. Requiring citizens to lock up the very firearms they lawfully own for self-defense is unconstitutional. S.2374/A.2690 - Imposes a 30 day wait period instead of existing 3 day wait period. If you have ever been "Delayed", then you know how easy it is for a simple typo error or common name spelling to cause a NICS delay. Law-abiding citizens should never be forced to wait 30 days to exercise their right to self-defense. S.2448/A.2684 - Bans "rapid fire modified devices". The so-called bump fire stock ban is left specifically vague on purpose by NY's gun control goons for a reason: ANY device, including very common aftermarket triggers, that improves the rate of fire would make you guilty of a felony! The best part is there is NO definition of what the standard rate of fire is for each and every firearm! Here we go again with Cuomo's arrest them first and let the court's decide later strategy. Over a year after the Las Vegas shooting, we still have no clue what motivated that person or who else was involved. All we have been told is that it's the bump stocks fault all those people died. Please remind your reps that gun crimes haven't changed a bit since Cuomo's SAFE Act was shoved down our throats. They still need to fix the language requiring no more than 7 rounds being held in a magazine since two NY judges have deemed that part of the law unconstitutional. Also, millions of dollars were wasted on the requirement that NYSP establish a background checks database for ammunition purchases. Albany legislators need to admit their mistakes and correct them. Finally, remind every single one of your reps that they work for YOU! The two 800lb gorillas in this state are stunningly not a priority in Albany, those two being LOWERING TAXES and ETHICS REFORM. Instead, they have been wasting their time and our money in 2019 on a baby killing bill, euthanasia for all and now more useless gun control measures. It ain't the weather driving people out of this state!

Now that is a sausage fest I would gladly show up to! Looks awesome.

Sunday slow cooker dinner of Italian chicken and red peppers. Wish I hadn't forgotten the crusty Italian bread to go with it!

Very good stout, but can't hold a candle to goose's Red Stripe in Jamaica, mon! Mountain of dark chocolate followed by roast coffee and vanilla notes. A little too much bitterness on the backend though keeps this from being a repeat purchase for me.

So glad this forum can be a safe space for you to live your best life!

Hitting for the cycle on barrel-aged stouts tonight! Final piece of the Deconstructed Bomb! is Vanilla. Tasty variant and now the secret formula is mine! Final answer: Coffee > Vanilla > Cacoa Nibs > Chili Peppers
-
The "M" in Deconstructed Bomb! features cacoa nibs. Sweet chocolate fills the glass and lingers through each sip. MOOR please!
-
And now for something completely different! Far less sweet than I was expecting and kind of thin for an 11%-er. Banana flavors exceed the coconut yet neither is overpowering. Nicely balanced overall and fun to sample, but not something I would select over other tried and true barrel-aged stouts.
-
Deconstructed Bomb! variant #2: Chili Peppers. This is probably my least favorite stout flavor so expectations weren't high as a solo ingredient to the base stout. However, it's well done and not overwhelming. Too bad I don't have a pot of chili cooking! Coffee> > > Chili Peppers

Some good beer reading material for your weekend enjoyment. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.foodandwine.com/beer/best-barrel-aged-beers%3fsource=dam Personally, I would swap out Ballast Point Victory at Sea or the champagne-style beers for Founder's KBS in a NY minute. Or just expand the list.

Happy birthday Steuben Jerry and Tughill Tamer

Happy Birthday fellas! -
I need to seriously downshift while contemplating what just happened with Boxcar Joe? Sam I am, Winter Lager no make head go wham!
-
At least you had 2 of those cans.
-
I heard the same and passed it up on the shelf. I love dark chocolate in a stout, but need the bitter roasted coffee notes to balance that out. I'm sure this is a good beer, but learned my lesson with Samual Smith's Double Chocolate which was a drain pour for me for being overly sweet.

I cleared my calendar this afternoon to check out the new Singlecut store in my backyard. Kaitlyn, the very hot Singlecut rep working the floor, gave me the whole rundown. The Clifton Park location makes 13-15 beers (TF, she had no idea how many total beers, but was hot so it didn't matter), will have their taproom open (hopefully) by Memorial Day, plan to host live music events and operates the store front on a soft-opening basis for now. You can sample select beer, buy fresh 4 packs from the cooler and pick up a variety of glassware and swag. Keep tabs on the latest updates via their Facebook page, Singlecut North Store. This new 'Tell Shaky & Boxcar Joe' 9% DDH IIPA arrived today fresh out of the vats just minutes before the scheduled 1 pm release. It is a flavor explosion and well worth the $20/4 pk price tag. I can't let you WNY guys have all the day drinking fun, but might need nappy nap time if I pour another one of these!
-
TF, have you had this one? It's a 9% DDH IIPA and being released here tomorrow.
-
I'll get an answer for you on that tomorrow. Turns out they recently opened up a local storefront in my backyard and I missed it. D'oh! https://dailygazette.com/article/2019/01/06/singlecut-opens-clifton-park-store-taproom-in-progress

Local brewer nailed this one. Coffee Cup is similar to my standby favorite, Founders Breakfast Stout. Maybe a slightly thinner profile, but no less enjoyable. I'd love to see Common Roots collab with another brewery that has a good barrel-aging program to really make this one special.

Cheez-its and sweet coconut milk stout? Are you pregnant?

First bottle of the Deconstructed Bomb!, Coffee, is awesome! Pure roasted goodness.
