I concur (well, except the andti Trump lickspittle rehetoric) , but would you also agree that the following individuals also showed courage in putting Principles/Personal convictions over party fealty and should be commended for it? https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/watch-new-jersey-representative-who-switched-parties-criticizes-radical-democrats https://spectatorworld.com/topic/left-tulsi-gabbard/

Virg , you got me there Baby !! I think you’re right ; I’m celebrating her downfall cuz I’m a Trump fanboy AMD ALSO , because I truly believe that what she did was wrong and she was selling out her party and her constituents . May I, in turn , askyou something : are you a big Liz Cheney supporter now BECAUSE she hates Trump or because you agree with her policy positions ( or maybe both )?
-
I was quite pleased when I saw on the news this am that Traitor Liz was soundly defeated in her bid for relection in Wyoming. This is a vile, treacherous person who is more than a little deserving of a good drubbing, considering she has ignored the will of her constituents the past 2 years in order to wage her personal vendetta campaign against Donald Trump. I believe she was defeated by a 69-29% margin (2% other candidates)? Pretty clear message that the people of Wyoming did not agree with her stance on Trump/Jan 6th in my book!! What say you?

Theyre as different as night and day: both were breaking the law , but only one was actively fighting civil authorities (i.e., the cops) and actually pointed a weapon at them; by doing so, he endangered his own life, and that of the cops. Ashley Babbitt did no such thing. Not even close as explained in previous quote response. He took the cops taser and pointed it at the cops. I dont know about tasers, do you ( thats a sincere question , btw and is not a challenge). If struck by a taser, it hurts and incapa citates, right? I would imagine so, otherwise, why employ the use in law enforcement? Im sure the cop who had the taser pointe at him was aware of that, correct? And understadning that, Im sure he didnt wanna get shot. Already answered - very different. And yes, their record matters also. Can you honestly tell me that ones criminal record SHOULD NOT be a factor in interactions ebtween cops and citizens detained for whatever reason? Of course it does!! He was on probation and had been convicted of child endangerment ( I believe( whereas her record was clean; furthermore, the cop that shot Ashley didnt even know that cuz he jus summarily executed her (another of the myriad differences between the 2 cases)!! Cops in Taser guy case ran his stuff and knew he had a warrant and THATS why he ran. That sounds kinda cynical and nihilistic to me and may be part of the problem contributing to the POV youre expressing when judging these 2 situations. And, I notice that you STILL havent acknowledged or answered my query regarding the hypocrisy of your moral outrage. According to you early on in our discussion, you were outraged about taser guy getting shot because he was unarmed and running away , yet NO outrage whatsoever about a woman getting summarily executed during a protest-riot-or whatever you want to call it. Again ,I ask you: why? Because shes right wing and you disagree with her politics? When if she had been attending a BLM or ANTIFA riot and same thing happened as they were attempting to break into a govt building? Still ok with the execution or no? Ill give you my take: Im not ok with ANY of these scenarios transpiring!! Ashley Babbitt being shot during Jan 6th was wrong and a travesty of justice; taser guy being shot during an altercation was equally tragic and wrong , but IMHO, at least somewhat understandable as he WAS ARMED and WAS POINTING A WEAPON AT COPS-YOU CANT DO THAT!! Now, if he had just been running, then Im with you 100%- but he wasnt. Think about what Im saying here, Bud, cuz youre a bit off base in your judgement between the 2 IMHO. Peace NC Man

Like I said to you before, different situation. Although his word choice could have been a little better , I guess, hes saying that the Taser guy was shot because he was pointing a weapon at them while running away. He also happened to be legally drunk and high and fell asleep in the drive-thru blocking access and impeding their drive thru business which precipitated the whole sordid incident in the first place. Does that he deserved to lose his life? No, of course not, but he is certinaly much more culpable in his own death than Ashley Babbitt- dont you think Mike? I say again: Im very surprised that you fail to see the hypocrisy in your own stance regarding these two events. You have expressed apopletic moral outrage over the Taser guy shooting yet see nothing wrong with the Ashley Babbitt shooting, is that right?? THAT IS HYPOCRITICAL!! Im wondering why the disparity in moral outrage between the 2 incidents , Mike; why are you pissed off about the Taser guy getting killed , yet appear to be gleeful Ashley Babbitts death? Is it because the Taser guy fits your "victim" narrative? Are you gleeful over Babbitt's death because shes right wing , ergot you have nothing but contempt for her? If that is so, that is VERY distrubing to me; I wonder if you would also feel that way about us Conservatives on here? Would our lives be equally worthless to you due to our politics? NOT GOOD IF TRUE

I never claimed they are always in the right Mike. Im stating that I will give them the benefit of the doubt initially until the facts of the case are more clearly defined; you, however, do not appear to hold that seem level of reservation in judgement. If what you say is accurate about the taser guy then no, of course not ( I do know that the NC guy was a scumbag and shooting WAS justified); but again , getting back to the application of logic used to condemn some shootings and not others, I'm saying that based on your apparent logic, you should also be equally outraged about the shooting of Ashley Babbitt if said outrage is truly predicated on it being unjust due to the fact the victim was unarmed. There is another inequity in your comparsion I believe, as well: You mentioned the taser guy for whatever reason, didnt want to go to the station and fell asleep; I wonder why? Did he have a record? Now, by asking these questions, Im not suggesting that the guy had it coming to him and the shooting was justified cuz hes a scumbag- fact is, I dont know. But if hes always in trouble and the cops ran hum thru the database and he had outstanding warrants, wouldnt you expect them to treat him a little differently after that fact has been established, especially if warrants were of a violent nature? Wouldnt you? As opposed to if he had come up clean with absolutely warrants/ record whatsoever, I mean? I know that I would, especially if you care about your own personal safety!! Now, I ask you: when comparing this situation to Ashley Babbit, who had never been in trouble with the law before and was shot by cop, is it truly an apples to apples comparison ? I think not....
-
Didnt say that it was; however, the facts are she WAS unarmed and according to the lefts view of force used in the commission of a crime, should NOT have been summarily executed. What case are you referring to with the taser thing and ill lokk eit up? I , actually, was thinking more of the case in NC when cops were executing a warrant on a repeat felon who attempted to bolt in his vehicle , had a gun and was shot after smashing into several vehicle and almost running over the cops. Did Ashley Babbitt do any of those thiongs- nope. Honestly, I think she had no business being at the capitol that day but if you raise a clarioncall of moral outrage for one situation, based on your logic, you should for the other as well. You cannot-and should not- pick and choose your moral outrage over police brtuality / excessive force use and expect it to be taken seriously IMHO.

Just a Little bit a difference between the 2 examples, I'm afraid Mike. Ashley Babbitt was tresspassing at worst, whereas many of the police shootings (sans George Floyd)cited by you occur after a major crime has occurred such as robber, a shooting, etc. and it believed that the suspected perp is armed and dangerous. I mean, Isnt it you Guys that express moral outrage each and every time a black person (which, statistically, is exceedingly rare in the first place) is shot by the cops , always assuming from the get go that the cop is wrong even before knowing all the facts? Your side condones - and in many cases, actaully promotes- violence , rioting ,etc. , yet in the case of Ashelt Babbitt, an unarmed woman 5'1", there was nary a peep from the left regarding her murder; dont you find that more than just a little hypocritical?

I dont know, he may not be too far off Lefty; the first step towards reaching that point is the mass hysteria- and acceptance- of this lunacy as actual truth, which is what is most concerning. Notice how the Prof in the vid attempts to browbeat Hawley-and publicly shame him- in order to force acquiesence on his part that men, indeed can get pregnant. Remember this use of proper pronouns nonsense was an major issue in Canada about 5 years ago? I belive they had enacted a statute that esssentially, criminalized the willful use of pronouns by those addressing a transgender, correct? Not too long ago, made the news , also that a kid was suspended from school for that ( think Minnesota, but not sure)also, and was charged with sexual harassment- not good .
-
Oh, and another thing: I agree with you and could care less if someone wishes to identify as the sex opposite than their birth sex; moreover, I would use their preferred pronouns in social situations which support their gender designation if they so desire; I truly have no problem with that. But i will NOT indulge in fantasy and pretend that one who is born biologically a woman is equivalent and the same , both biologically and anatomically as any of us on here that were born as Dudes!!! Thats madness!! and that is what Im talking about here....

This is a Vidclip of Senator Josh Hawley, R from MO vs a Berekely Gender Studies Prof at a Senate Hearing yesterday. Whats so frightening to me about this whole exchange is the Profs -and likely, every single Liberal/Dem in the room as well-denial of reality in insisting that Men CAN get pregnant; furthermore, her absolutist POV that if you dont believe that and freely admit it, then youre a Trans bigot who denies the existence of Trans people and that promote violence against them!! What?? So I guess you cant even have a conversation about it now? This fallacy, that is so aggressively promulgated by the left reminds me of that old Fable "The Emperor has no Clothes", remember that lol? https://www.msn.com/en-us/video/peopleandplaces/sen-hawley-responds-to-viral-moment-with-berkeley-professor-regarding-term-woman/vi-AAZvFY8
