  1. Lord, here we go again!! Orange blind? I dont understand youre need to attack members of a party that would, hands down, vote for your preferred candidate overwhelmingly , at a rate approaching 100% (if not 100%))!! Everyone knows he has flaws, like all of us; does Desantis not also have flaws? I think you need to look at his DeSantis popularity in his own state before you so eagerly tout him as the heir apparent leader of the Republican party. He has flaws and vulnerabilities to, it seems.... But hey, Id vote for him if it came down to him vs ANY DEMOCRAT running for Prez, which is what you would do as well, Im sure , if Trump were to receive the noimnation- right ? How very analytical of you!! Did you even watch it? Ill bet you did not , amd thats why so easily dismiss it .
  2. I like that!! How much was that puppy?
  3. I agree , but youre assessment of the situation- and solution- isnt realistic. BOTH parties have averred, off and on over the years that they need to collaborate and cooperate/work together, and- ostensibly, at least- have indicated an awareness that that extremism leads to polarization, resulting in stalemate. But neither side is going to conciliate , lest they confer an advantage to the other in terms of power that will, ultimately, be exploited at the expense of the other. As an example of this, one would have to be willing as a registered voter affiliated with either the Dem/Rep party to pull the lever for a member of the other when and if appropriate. Now, Im not saying this doesnt happen , because Im sure that it does , but its also, likely to be kind of rare. Being in the majority on this forum, how many of us Republican Conservatives would vote for a Democrat, honestly? Well, not me !! In my view that party has become too extreme and too dangerous to the future of this country. Could I be wrong? Sure, but I dont think so!! And , frankly, most on here would agree with that sentiment. Conversely, How many on the left here could honestly say that you could and would vote Republican?? Probably not many (if any), because you view our party with the same disdain , fear and distrust as we do yours!! You say you hate Trump -hes the real problem- but would you vote for a Desantis, for example, if he ran against Biden? As terrible as Biden is and has been, Ill bet youd still vote for him though!! And that is precisely why the parties can never truly become moderate, as a whole....
  4. Bill hasnt passed yet , though, right? I thought was just proposed at this point.
  5. Wait: Background check for rifle ammo too? Even if youre not a pistol permot holder? Are you sure?
  6. Agreed this is wrong approach. but Im sure hes tired of the political indoctrination thats been going on -for like 50 years- at colleges and universities. Need I say which side has been engaged in the indoctrination?
  7. When if shes not able to get a ride, though? Like I said before, what concerns me is the potential here for an extreme view- fron either side, mind you- to become law in any of the "hard core" red or blue states. IMHO, states that enact a total ban on abortion is as extreme, wrong and unrealistic as those that may be inclined to allow the procedure unfettered. When if the shoe was on the other foot and this happened to us? Example: hard core Lefty Loonies from the city(that outnumber us, btw so if they wanted to , they probably could) decide to outlaw Hunting in New York State cuz they dont like the idea of animals getting murdered (their words) in this day and age. When you vehemently protest, their reply is "Hey- you wanna hunt? No problem; go to Jersey or PA!! That would blow....
  8. Technically, youre correct, of course and I dont necessarily disagree with your position; however, I am, admittedly, a little uncomfortable with the idea of a young lady getting pregnant in a deep red state that bans ALL abortions, no matter what and nearest state that does allow it is minimum of an 8 hour drive. Shes only 15 and cant drive-what then? That would blow....
  9. I think that we , as a society, run into trouble when attempting to deal in Absolutes; to say that Abortion should be allowed on-demand is extreme as is banning all abortions, regardless of the circumstances. As for the vaccine, I think we all learned from our COVID experience last year that the application of similar logic is undoubtedly most advisable.
  10. Not entirely true cuz gas prices were great under his admin long before the pandemic hit. I do agree w you though that post pandemic, demand did skyrocket and has something (but not everything)to do with what were seeing currently w/ gas $- good point.
  11. Agreed- that is the crux of the matter, isnt it? For the majority of people (I think) , human life begins after the first trimester , perhaps even as late as 15-16 weeks; after that point, it is, indeed a person and should be treated as one.
  12. Oh, I didnt see that one; oh, ok, so youre saying the oil companies are losing $ right now? How do you know?
  13. I think that it would benefit all of us if our domestic oil production and market was restored to the robust level that we enjoyed under the Trump administration. During that time, gas prices were 1/5 of what they are today and theres a reason for that!!
  14. Depends upon what constitutes being "over" in terms of their future. Thats a bit of a false equivalence because all participants ,in your scenario are born and have been for many years living their lives. Certainly, anyone in a civilized society that takes a life , whether wittingly or not, must be held accountable in some way- they should, however, be given a fair chance at redemption.
  15. Interesting example; are you suggesting a scenario in which the Mother wants and the Father does not? Does he have rights to insist upon abortion, then? Hmmm....
  16. Great story !! No, it should not be; great example of a situation in which first trimester abortion could be applied without prejudice IMHO. However, if she waits till past that, then we have a problem.
  17. Germany doesnt have the benefit or option of utilizing its own oil reserves cuz it has none- we do!! Thats why this mess is absolutely , unequivocally Biden's fault !!
  18. Not sure about that, but It's a good question, aint it?
  19. I'm a first trimester guy , myself; I think that abortion should be allowed within thatie frame without conditions; after that time has passed, should be harder (but not impossible) to obtain.
  20. But you’re avoiding the real issue here . What role does The Biden administration have to play in this gas tax mess would you say ? ( Not really a baseball guy , myself , but thoroughly enjoyed your use of them in your repartee with Grouse )
