  1. If it's gonna rain you get in that stand. I got up early enough last year to get in for an afternoon hunt but it was pouring and I passed out and took a nap. Because of That I went and got a good rain gear set. Won't let this happen to me again. Hopefully I loaded video correctly. https://www.dropbox.com/s/472qrx9yku5h02f/STC_0458.AVI?dl=0 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  5. In in 4P as well great pic of activity on trail cam throughout the entire season doe population was smaller than past years but still good. Had a lot of bucks on cam both old and young 2 great 8 pointers and a bruiser of an 8. I was just never in the right spot when I hunted. Had a lot of activity in week leading up to the gun opener and that Thursday before the gun opener they were gone. Had gotten 4 pictures in an area the Monday after the opener and then nothing on cam the rest of the week. A couple spikes were rubbing up some trees but not a deer during daylight and I hunted hard this year knowing what I had on cams. Got one doe with the bow and that was it. I think they got the memo that the opener was coming and headed to a few neighbors property that weren't gonna be there. Disappointed for what could've been. Gearing up for next year. Had a few bear frequent the property 2 young ones and one that was above 300. Looking forward to next year and getting lots of practice if that bruiser makes it through this season. 6. If I recall from an old article he was very fond of jelly donuts. He was also taken by crossbow at 40yds. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. He was a "domesticated" bear. His name was Bozo and was fed by a local there for 15 yrs since he was a cub. Locals there weren't happy to hear about this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  13. THHuntNY I took a Black Bear with my bow back during the 2010 hunting season. He was a 200lb bear and I shoot a PSE Bow Madness set at 70lbs and I use Rage broadheads. Bear went 50 yds and dropped right there and Bled out. Went to track him and hour later and where I last saw him is where he was found. I hit him just behind left shoulder and on a downward shot from my treestand and arrow was poking through front of right shoulder. That was my first bow kill. I stand behind RAGE broadheads if you already use you know the results, if you switch I feel you will not be disappointed. Use what you are comfortable with and practice with what you plan to shoot so that you have no reservations. My .02.....
  14. Was up in 4P this weekend. No signs that the chase is on rub and scrape activity have increased. My buddy watched a group of 4 doe walk for about 200yds with nothing behind them for at least a half hour. I had a doe come in by herself she sniffed a mock and continued on her way. Then I took her from about 25yds. Yesterday morning was a bust. Heading back up Friday night for the first 3 days of opening weekend. I can only assume that they'll be seeking/chasing by then. Fingers crossed got a few nice bucks on the property.
  15. Take a ride to Middle Island on 25 theres a store in a strip mall called Archery Forum, think the guys name is Chuck Stensel. He carries them all, he'll let you shoot right there, he's there to help. Got my fathers Mathews DXT from there and he also set up my PSE Bow Madness XS.
