Pygmy
I would suggest checking some of the online gun auctions and see what the guns you are interested are selling for.. Try www.gunbroker.com or www.gunsamerica.com.. Do a search on your guns..
biggamefish
Hey thanks for the info. I have a buddy that was asking about a browning that his grandfather had. He didn't know much about the gun other than it is in great condition and from the early 1900's. I told him I wanted to see pic so I could drool. Pygmy
A good source of info about shotguns is www.shotgunworld.com. They have forums that are specific to difference brands ( Browning, Ithaca, etc. etc. etc.) and will help you identify guns, year of manufacture, value, and other info... Mr VJP
The best source of gun values is The Blue Book Of Gun Values. This book is the bible for collectors as far as gun values go. Condition of a firearm is extremely important in determining it's value. After market modifications that are not easily spotted can also affect the value of a collectible firearm. It takes a little education to become mildly competent in the area of firearms assessment. The Blue Book Of Gun Values is an excellent book to start educating oneself. biggamefish
VJP, Can I pick up the blue book at a regular book store or gun store?
Mr VJP
Most big book stores have them, but they cost about $50 new. You can buy a used one that is a year or two old for a lot less and the prices in it are still pretty accurate. You can check some online auction sites like E-bay and Gunbroker.com. Setters4life
Hey I was wondering if you guys knew a site that I could punch in the model number, type of a couple guns and find out what they were worth? As noted above, ShotgunWorld is a good source, and Gunbroker.com and Gunsamerica.com are good as well. There are brand-specific forums (I.E. Savage, Winchester, L.C. Smith, Parker, DoubleGun.com, etc.) if you want to delve deeper into the issue. I have a Blue Book I use as a reference. Only it's a couple years old now.
