Looking to film this year. Best newb camera

I am lookign to try to dabble in taping myself. What woudl be the cheapest and best camera to start and to see if I like doing it? Anny suggestions woudl be greatly appreciated.

I use a canon hf20 when filming myself and it works out great. That along with a 3rd arm mini xl camera arm and its a very lightweight packable way to film yourself.

Most cams are high def now, but you get what u pay for. Look for the lowest lux rating you can afford (allows you to film in low light) biggest mistake amatures make is allowing the camera to auto focus on their subject. You need to zoom all the way in manually focus on the subject then zoom out. This gives you the sharp clear video you see on television. Its hard to do by yourself (thats why the tv shows use camera men) lens size is also important the larger the lens more light gets in the better film you will be able to produce. Look for these features in the camera you choose. Sony, panasonic, what ever brand you choose.

I bought a Sony handycam off Craigslist. Seems to work good so far. Self filming is a whole lot harder than I thought it would be LOL. Might have to hire my own cameraman, hehehe

You may want to look at a GoPro Hero HD. I use one on my boat and the jetski - it is absolutely amazing. You can kill all sounds, and even set it to operate on a "1 button" Start /stop. PM me if you want to see some of the video I have taken with it. Really great camera, waterproof, fog proof, and tiny. Even has a handlebar mount that will attach to a rifle, shotgun, or scope.

Check out the Canon Vixia series. I picked up one last season for 650 or so and it takes professional quality HD video in a compact camera.

ive gotta canon gl2 its SD but no one could tell unless i told them they have alot of complete package deals online usually new 1500 but you can get them in an auction for as low as 300 and my pov camera is a fujifilm xp50 with a gorillapod works AMAZING
