growalot
stand prep..thanks to loggers and tip...I went out and replaced last years blind branches with new beech branches....leaves stay on longer...I nailed pipe holders...in pics .to the stand and arrange branches as needed .....couple of bucks for a pack of 6...any ways this can be done on your metal stands and climbers...just Tye wrap where you would normally nail...and you can have fresh tree branches or by floral sticks in autumn leafs....quick easy cover for open tree stands....Good luck everyone Edited September 27, 2012 by growalot
Lawdwaz
Didn't they log your neighbors land? I'm sure you had permission to grab those limbs or they landed on your side of the mountain?? Aren't you afraid of getting too much sent in the area so close to the opening day? Either way, good luck.
growalot
No.... they are still heavy at the logging...My woods now light right up in sun shine.......Trimmed my beech near by...they were hanging too low and beech are nice branches to use because they grow..."flat"...nothing sticking into the platform area... This area is where the chicken coop is and deer are use to my scent being there....some of the greatest predawn deer fights I've heard...... have been right in front of that stand....the deer seem to like the chicken coop...bed near and walk past it a lot...I think it's smell masks mine...I compost the bedding from it there as well Besides I have plenty of places to hunt before that or not far from that area...Thanks same to you...
