Elmo's 2012 Bowhunt

Went into the woods for the first time in a long time just to do a quick scout and see what post hurricane sandy did to my spots. Not a single heart beat at all. There were some tracks and fresh scat but not a whole lot. I didn't even see any squirrels or chipmunks.

While my apartment escaped the hurriance unscathed, my parents and other relatives lost power so I've been playing host to a bunch of people at my place leaving me little time now. Chances of a bow harvest this year seems slim now.

On another note, I had ordered a scope for my newly purchased muzzleloader but it got stuck in transit due to the hurricane. It finally arrived today so I'll need to start thinking about gun season soon as well.

Been itching to head back into the woods since i haven't gone hunting in a while. I always try to avoid the orange army that's at it's worst when on public land so close to the city so I decided to check out the bow only areas. Jumped a doe on the way in and saw another maybe 80 yards out but nothing else.
