airguns for coyotes

hey guys just wondering if any one had used or heard of someone using a pellet gun on coyotes. i found a 22 caliber pellet rifle that shoots at 978 fps so what do you guys think.

That .22 probably shoots PBA pellets at those speeds, which is going to be sub 16 FPE, not much in terms of going up against a yote.

Anything in the 30 FPE range and up is sufficient for a humane headshot for yotes within 50 yards.

I don't know of a pump or breakbarrel capable of those energy levels yet, only PCP. The .22 and .25 Marauder is probably going to venture cheapest PCP that can do the job.

I'd agree with Shawnhu for the most part. I'd definitely say if you want to airgun yotes instead of hurling .223 at 'em, PCP is really your only effective option. I'd go one step further though and say you want .25 or above.

The Rogue is overkill for yotes, frankly. .25 Marauder or Air Force Condor would be much more suited. The Rogue is "too much gun" to be honest.
