4 more days! who will hunt opening day on LI?

Oh yeah! Cant wait.  Took First two weeks off plan on doing alot of sitting.

i wish i even had 3-4 days back to back i can sit during bow season, id sit all day...

i will be out monday and wedsday after the opening, not really crazy about hunting on weekends.

I won't.  I hunt public land and I went out last year on opening day and people were everywhere.  I parked in one spot and before I went out in the woods I saw another hunter walk out and said dont bother.  He was sitting in a stand with 2 doe under him and another hunter walked right up and set up near him.  I usually like to let a week pass before I head out.

I do the same thing, I like hunting the second or third week on oct.

rain or shine im going in! ive been dyeing to sit this stand and im looking forward to it. ive seen big bucks up on there feet during the rain, so im going to give it a shot. we will see what happens. im excited eitherway...

Geno, If you sit on a tree stand make sure that you tie yourself unto the tree on the way up and down. The deer will be moving. I have seen the deer move when it's very windy. The are very careful but, will move. GOOD LUCK to all. Please be safe.

I am with you slugger will not hunt first 2 weeks. mid to late oct is best time.

getting in on the first 2 weeks isnt a bad thing... only REAL downside is the other hunters, but none the less its a good thing to get in when the season opens to log some hours...
