Power ice augers

Any opinions on power augers if you were in the market for one. Northern Tools got one for 300 hundred. It's an eight inch 43cc made by Mako.

I know less than nothing about cutting holes in ice but a good friend SWEARS by his human powered auger that he got a few years ago. No fuss, no muss, always runs and takes seconds to buzz right through.

I have an 8 inch hand auger. I cut a few holes this weekend and I just can't cut the way I used to. Power seems the only way.

propane powered jiffy hands down the smoothest auger i have seen.It does get finicky in 10 below temps.Just keep a 1#tank wrapped up and warm for backup.

I have an older 2-cycle Jiffy...cuts big 8" holes FAST!

Went with the Eskimo Shark z51. The price and availability fit my budget($299). Can't wait to tear open some holes. I looked at the propane ones but they were to expensive.
