As you all know I walk daily and do a lot of woods work and "farming" type activities...during the winter we also have a great elliptical....but  I told Mr B last night that I was starting a new routine ...I need to be out the door before day break and off I went at 6:30...later than I wanted...so it will be 5:30 from now on...Well I just got back at 9:48...What a Great Hike!!...Though the wind is coming out of the south east it wasn't bad until the last half mile ......So  We'll see how long the old knees will hold out...I already know the route has to change...for I hit a down hill road...that was murder on my feet and knees....I for got walking straight down a steep hill was so hard...Saw some deer ,yote, fox tracks and a lot of song birds....But Mr B. thought I'd be right home...drinking burnt coffee right now....have to have the coffee fix...lol

Good for you! I keep telling myself, I got to get back out and start running/biking again. Haven't done it in a couple of years since hurting my back in 2010 and then getting sick last April/May.  Hoping to get started again after this Weds when I see my Neurologist again.

I miss biking ...I use to ride 7 miles everyday after the kids were born...I'd wait until everyone was asleep and hit the road at 11pm or get up and ride at 4am before Mr B left for work and the kids arrived for day care...It was great...But we also had all the street lights....but when we moved to this place I gave up the bike due to the hill we live on...It scares me just to drive down it in a car...No way could I handle a bike down this hill...besides I loved biking at night...we have no street lights any wheres near us here....I laugh because during the summer we routinely have bikers and motorcyclists drive up to the top of the hill just to turn around...so they can drive/ride back down....I'd need a barf bag...lol

Hope every thing goes well on Wednesday for you ...

Still too cold for biking, but it's one of my favorit summer activities. We have a trail park 5 miles away that connects me to the closest town 11 miles away! In the summer, I'll do the 11 miles x's 2 at least 3x's a week on the mountain bike. This time of year, I'll hike in with my pack filled for the day but usually stick to the woods where I log most of my miles. Once the weather breaks and I get back on 2 wheels, I'll use the mountain bike trails as a shortcut to anywhere I need to go in town and beyond if the weather's nice. My longest bike trip last summer was 54 miles round trip and I covered that in 4 hrs. I don't set any land speed records, but I do keep plugging along at a steady pace. At the very least, my doctor is impressed every 6 months when I come in for my regular check ups and blood work. I'm probably more active now than I was in my 20's and apparently it's obvious every time I visit the dr.

I'll never forget the best bike ride I ever took...15ys old...Tony Vital and I left Piffard...him on his 3-5gear bike and me on a borrowed bike...It sat low had a banana seat no gears and those tall wide handle bars...WHAT WAS I THINKING...lol...anyhow we left Piffard rode to Lakeville ...and hit west lake road....road all around the entire lake and back to Piffard that day...stopped at a store and bought fixings for a sandwich ...and ate lunch at the inlet...that was 20 some miles on that stupid bike......a Fun memory I'll never forget...good thing he smoked...I would have never kept up with him...hahaha

Good deal. Im STILL!! recovering from knee surgery that I had back in May and I have just gotten to the point where I can do a fast paced walk. The past few weeks i have been taking the dog out on the trails for about 2 miles. It feels good.
