Traded a Phoenix for a Pony

Recommended Posts

About a month ago, I purchased my first 1911, a Ruger SR1911 CMD. I was happy with it, or thought I was until I went into a local shop last week to purchase a S&W Victory and saw this old Colt. It’s a ‘71 Commander, and I just fell all over it. I bought my Victory, and came back the next day to see about trading my Ruger for the Colt. Long story short, they made me a fair trade offer, and I brought both the Smith and the Colt home today.

The Colt fits my love of “old” guns, and I have a feeling this one is the keeper. It’s in great shape, with very little bluing wear, and everything is nice and tight, not a rattle to be heard. I’m very pleased.
