Deerthug
I received an offer to lease a new 2013 Infiniti for $269/month for 24 months and 10k miles a year. Part of the offer includes paying off my remaining 3 months on my existing one, and up to $500 on wear and tear. My existing one is in good condition except for a small tear in the driver's side door panel. I was thinking of getting a repair kit to repair it myself but I never had any experience with any of such kits. Any suggestions on how to repair this tear? Or which kit to use? hunterman7956
Try using goop on a toothpick or matchhead and start in middle of tear work your way outwards .It takes awhile to set completly so if you can keep patting fabric down till it sticks ,When dry usually 12 to 24 hrs you can rub off excess with fingers . good luck ! HuntOrBeHunted
I would just take the seat right out and bring it somewere to get it done. I'm sure it isn't a one peice seat cover so it shouldn't cost to much.
Deerthug
It's not on the seat. Its the drivers side door panel. I think I'm going to try the glue first and then get a leather repair kit to blend it in. Edited March 24, 2013 by Deerthug
tuckersdaddy
if your trading it in, i wouldnt worry about it. it shouldnt make a difference on the trade value. if the dealer says theyre deducting more then a hundred buck or so call a salvage yard and see if you can just get another door panel. you can probably even ask for the correct color. can be changed in less then an hour, but i would just let the next owner worry about it. Deerthug
So after worrying about the tear in the door panel and spending a few days trying to repair it, the car inspection went very well today. No charges. Inspection came out clean. Woot!
