landtracdeerhunter
U know we have to see pics of the "Back Saving Machine," LOL. Seriously, I have to get on the clover and remove the rock, the frost brought up over the winter. Some good size ones too, couple 60-75 lbs. . burmjohn
Funny, my old man just picked one up too. What are you going to use it for? It seems like it has so many uses. He wants to use it to spread / level small rocks (driveway / trail). And then use it for our small fields to pull small rocks. Wonder if it would be good to use the disc, then this thing to pull the rocks out that were kicked up from disc'ing? I have visions of groomed trails with this thing lol. Is it "York Rake" brand ? growalot
So OK I was absolutely crazy saying no to this as a B-day gift last year due to cost..OMG...happy camper Edited April 23, 2013 by growalot
growalot
No a country line from TCS....Well rocks and same as your Dad but here's what I found today...if you have a field that has few weeds that survived the last crop you can go in rake for rocks and end up with a more level plot and the weeds(tick seed) pulled up and the top 1-2 of soil loosened....No discing required to plant clovers... braccs...or summer grains... I went down and raked out a bunch of milo stalks that were in the future corn plot and some leafs off. When I spray the weeds I didn't pull out, there will be good contact...I then raked and old clover area that I'm planting power plant in ......just so many medium rocks were winrowed ...then will scoop up in the bucket I had a large dip in a trail....filled the bucket with dirt the town had dug out of near by culverts and needed to dump...I took it...free fill...then turned around and raked the pile level ... That is just one afternoon...imagine what I could do with a WHOLE DAY!....lol
burmjohn
Looks like a great tool. He said to spread rocks it swivels around? Sent from my Droid
growalot
Yes...I found in loose soil. trying to get rocks will grade off top soil ...soooo...I turned the rake around and pushed the rocks from field in reverse...soil fell away but rocks piled up...great for pushing brush out of the way as well...I cut a large rose bush near a plot and a honey suckle bush...just pushed them away from plot and in a pile...I swear it payed for it's self in a few hours.... burmjohn
Hey grow do you have a trailer you use on the property that hooks to the tractor? Was thinking of getting one so we could haul crap around in addition to using it on the truck to make runs to town.

growalot
That is going to be a great plot I'm sure...Hey we can compare seed brands...how was the cost on that?...I bought 50# of the power plant 11/2 to 2 acres( I think 2acres would be pushing it a bit) for 75.00 ....I have a few trail plots to rake and lay down some grain seed...the clover I over seeded in other grain and clover plots is coming up beautifully...
