odd dmv question...

Getting ready to put my truck on the road tomorow. Guy at our shop is about to do the same and he asked me an odd question i didnt have an answer for. He was wondering if the dmv runs your license when you go to register a vehicle. I told him i was unsure but didnt see the point if they did. To get insurance you gotta give the insurance company your license info so....basically no license no insurance. Am i wrong or? I dont wanna tell him one thing an have it be wrong. Then again its been awhile since i put a car on the road so...i honestly dont remember.

DMV in NYC requires a drivers license in order to register a vehicle.

Oh i know you need one. I think he may have some suspensions or whatnot on his. Guess we will find out tomorow lol!

You have to have a license, but I couldnt tell you if they look through your record. I dont think they do but Im not sure either way.

Pretty much what i figured. If you can get insurance then i assume your license is ok. Not sure either but only one way to find out.
