growalot
To do a final disc/drag lay down fertilizer and plant the corn and rest of power plant...not expecting much from corn except cover and road block...with the rabbits around ...perhaps not much from the power plant as well.....hhmm but at least I'll give it a try...Seeing I have an ant proplem....I may just see if a spraying of seven will keep the critters at bay as well....can't imagine it makes plants taste good and I may get the ants under control... growalot
Holy cow I'm done!!!!...at least on plots and until the first week of August...the power plant is in heavy seeding and I left a unplanted path along the edge of the clover plot...this will have tall tines put in it...just in case I don't have time to cut paths in the power plant come fall to plant winter wheat Now to the garden...peppers have stem rot due to rain..Oh well and I have yet to get the summer squash planted nor the broccoli...it's drying up enough to till...I think I will just kill off the weeds in one big section and plant buck wheat to till in and winter wheat as a green manure for next year... landtracdeerhunter
My plow done wheat is headed nicely. Starting to ripen. Left it due to the wet June. High hopes the turkey visit it like last season. They don't seem to trust the area until some of the hay is removed. The deer have made paths through, with several bedding areas in spots. Looks like a good fawn year from the beds spotted. It's continues to rain here this am., with another 6/10th. Couple days of drying and back to wet. growalot
This weather is driving me crazy sun then clouds and the thunder...sun...then clouds thunder and rain...I feel like I'm living in Florida! The problem is if I'm in the woods working and a storm hits I can't get back to the house fast enough..My knee is still a mess from April... A storm caught me out and I was running up the hill with lightening all around me....They roll across the valley so fast...it's scary....Trimming needed is so thick now...I'm not sure even my trusty old DR will handle it...LOL
