Where has the corn been cut/ when will it be cut ?

I read that farmers were cutting their corn down around NY, I have a spot in CNY that has a couple corn fields. I just haven't had time to go by the lately seeing its an hour away. Just wondering if anyone has any idea when the majority of corn will be getting cut? I was hoping mid October. Thanks

Just depends on the farm...whether its chopped or combined...around us in the finger lakes some fields are cut already and some are still standing...it also depends on weather...there seems to be a worry about ear mold right now due to damp cool weather in some areas...that will get them harvesting early and using a dryer for the grain harvest....

(sp) Harvests also depends on when the corn was planted, to reach maturity date for those areas not receiving a frost or freeze yet.
