Nomad
Moved a few . My wife works for a safe co. Gets good prices so most of my friends got them. We moved them ourselves ,however seldom did ours go over 500 pounds that's a 2 or maybe 3 man job if they'er desk type guys. if your going in basement. A 500 pounder is quite easy. In your case I think I'd pay for a pro. One thing you can lighten it up A LOT by removing the door .
PREDATE
Just moved one back in Sep. Not fun! I also recommend that you hire pros
burmjohn
what does a 1200 pound safe look like? I mean, I have a good sized safe but it was maybe 400 or so pounds, and I could move it myself, can't imagine what a 1200 pounder looks like, but sure would love one! One thing I learned, you can NEVER have a big enough safe!
