Welcome. I was in the same boat as you, started Bow hunting a few years back.... Man, I didn't realize what I was missing all those years. For many years driving upstate 200 miles and seeing a couple deer all week...

Hey Fish....if been bowhunting for a ling time but just starting to tap into the east end. 200 miles ....I use to drive 340 every weekend for10 years. I'd live to share a hunt w with someone close by.

Started really hunting the island 5 years ago. Such great opportunities 30min from home and learn something new everytime out, deer actually act lkme deer out here rubs/scrapes etc.. and much better buck doe ratios than upstate. now i go upstate for the fresh air and peace and quiet but stick to the island for the deer

I hunt L.I too it's a place you gotta have a plan to hunt but I don't think it's as bad as everyone makes out. Like Danny sez not a place for peace and quiet but lotsa, deer, fox, crows, etc...
