Trying to plan a camping hunting trip

Not sure if this is the right place to post this question but here goes. I am from New Jersey and I am still fairly new to hunting. I would like to plan a trip to go on a camping and hunting trip for small game just to get my feet wet. Though I am having trouble finding any information on where you can do both these activities at the same time anywhere near me. Are there any places like this in upstate New York? If you have any information or can point me in the right direction to where I can find this information would be great. Thank you.

I used to camp and hunt the state land in Roscoe NY. 15,000 acres of property. It was an amazing experience for sure. Look up Roscoe NY, Morton Hill road. Follow that road all the way up the mountain until you hit state land. Have at it!

I just camped the Moose River Plains the last week of September.  The area offers good Grouse hunting as well as Deer and Bear.

 

Be careful of weather though, any decent amount of snow could cause serious problems.

You could give Bear Spring Mountian a shot ( Not Bear Mountian ) NYSDEC campground and hunting in the area.
