thphm
Finally got a chance to sight her in today Remy. blueprinted short action heavy recoil lug, custom 1 in 13 twist BBL.X 24" long ( made for 55 to 85 Gr. bullets ) H&S stock, Rifle Basics trigger, Piller bedded and floating BBl. After sighting in at 100 yards with 87 Gr. Nosler Partition. I shot 65 Gr, V-Max + 75 Gr. V-Max + 85 Gr. Berger Match and the 87 Gr. Partitions. All were inside of a Nickle size hole. Also tried 100 Gr. Win. factory ammo , It was off , on center but 3" low. Cases were fireformed first with, cream of wheat and pistol powder. Not he hottest loads for each bullet either.
Pygmy
Very cool...The Nosler Part. would make a great deer bullet.. You may also want to try monometals such as the Barnes X series . They work best at high velocities that your AI case is capable of. Talk to Lawdwaz about that...

The BBL. was from an older setup I had for Yotes. 6mm different caliber. Just a pleasure to shoot thou.
Pygmy
I'm sure the partition will work fine... I just mentioned the TTSX as another good option for fairly small caliber and high velocity. Good luck Saturday !! I'll be shooting Barnes TTSX 120 grainers at about 3000 FPS from my 7mm08 M700 mountain rifle.
pistolp71
Nice rig, love those Ackleys. The partition is a great big game bullet. Tried and true. The 87 gr bullets are going to be on the tail end of stability with a 13 twist. And 100 grainers wont shoot well with that 13 twist. What pistol powder did you use to fire form? thphm
Powder was from some 357 Sig ammo. I had left over, II just used about 1/3 of a case ,then cow , then sealed it with an 1/8" of cotton ball, and another 1/8" of bees wax . Ran a patch threw after every 5 shots. 13 twist bbl. was from another combination, which I shot 55 and 65 grain bullets,I know 87 gr. is at the ragged edge but I sighted it in with them and the 65 and 75 grain were very close. Not going to shoot over 100 yards anyway because that is the limit on my property, safety in mind any other longer shots would be up hill which I do not like to do.
