  1. A lot of that gunfire was not smooth. It was classic bump fire cycle rate. Not to mention the posted pictures of one of the rifles with a bump stock....
  2. Have you ever fired a AR with a bump fire stock? Or seen one used? I have, no snow job.
  3. Looks like a mangy coyote to me
  4. New York Times, what a pathetic rag that is. I've been shooting prairie dogs out west for 9-10 yrs straight now. Man is it fun. Ranchers are always happy to see us. Its better that poisoning them with secondary kills and all.
  5. Naah. That's cheating, it's meant for harvest research. That would be like going to the local duck pond with some bread and jumping on one of the banded geese and prying the band off.
  6. Yup, did think of that. I warned the kids. That would certainly be the last thing he did.
  7. I cant kill this thing, even if the season was open. He's too dumb. Probably wont see another though. I've got a bunch of waterfowl bands, $100 reward bands and goose neck collars.
  8. Wasn't a reward band. Just said report harvest and numbers.
  9. Oh yeah, heard him gobbling at neighbors when I woke up. Calling him over with a diaphragm. He was shock gobbling at everything.
  10. I've had this banded young guy in my yard for the past couple days. Man is he young and dumb. My kids have been getting a kick out of him following them and the neighbors around.
  11. That's awesome. I've got a 8 yr old archery shooting daughter myself. Good stuff.
  12. I agree. Rage will never get another penny from me. And not using a mechanical of any sort makes even more sense to me than switching to another. Like what was said before, even 1% is too much for my liking.
  13. The shock collar was on the correct way, and the blades were not out. These were used out of a treestand, no stalking. The pic is the entry wound, pretty typical from what I've seen. Might look a little worse from being in the water so long. And I think the helical fletching may be the reason as well. Its the only logical explanation I can see. Other than somehow a bad batch of broadheads/steel. Live and learn, usually the hard way.
  14. Completely agree. A mistake I won't make again.
  15. Whatever the reason is, bad batch, don't know. I can never use them again. Hopefully you guys that use them have continued success. I'm looking at it like, not only do I have to have confidence in it, which is completely gone now. I put countless hours scouting, stand time, etc, I do my part, and put the arrow where it needed to be, only to have it fail me. And they aren't cheap at around $40 for three. Me and my family would have been eating backstraps off that buck had I been using a fixed blade like I have been for the past 27 years. That I'm sure of.
  16. Hmm, good thinking. I don't use quickspin but I fletch my own with blazer 2 inch at a helical, forgot the degree, would have to check.
  17. Nope, the arrow broke off when he ran but judging by how much was sticking out, it didn't penetrate far at all.
  18. No clips on hypodermics, just shock collar. Those blades should not have broken off like that on a broadside shot not hitting bone.
  19. The lake wasn't that far, but he wasn't there when I looked for days and probably miles after the shot. I tracked him for about 150 yards on a light blood trail, found a spot where he likely bedded and was probably bumped by us. It was on a hill near a very thick part of the woods. After that I figured after being bumped, he went into the thick section, we backed out and I came back the next morning pretty confident he would be dead in there somewhere. After walking and mostly crawling on my hands and knees for hours and searching the next 3 days. Nothing. Fast forward to yesterday, go to take my treestand down and shed hunt and look again for the buck, I look out in the lake and see something partially floating, first thought was maybe a tire. Take a closer look and can see its a deer but couldn't see the head. Couldn't help but to wonder if it was him,. Proceeded to take off some clothes and walk out there in that freezing water and sure enough it was.
  20. Yup,agreed, completely lost confidence in these. I literally wouldn't use them again if someone paid me. Started second guessing myself on the shot placement until I found him yesterday.
  21. Here's a couple of pics, just in case you guys think I'm crazy. First 2 are the first buck and shows the field tip sized exit and broken broadhead, second two are of the second buck showing the shot and how it opened, and the rack that I should have been able to recover that morning. Not 4 months later and had to walk out in a freezing lake yesterday to get.
  22. Same here, have friends that love them. That's why I gave them a try. For me personally, big mistake.
