Old Tent As A Blind

Had this idea in my head for a while now. This thread made me start thinking about it again:

I will be retiring my old 9x9 camo tent. The tent itself is still in great condition, but, the poles are shot. Already talked about the poles in a different thread so not going into that.

 

I can actually use this tent as a blind. Cut out the floor and window screens, use 5 sticks for support ( one in each corner and one for the center height ), instead of staking it out to 9x9 go 6x6 and pull the corners in making a smaller square shape, stake the fly down, re-water-proof it, and spay it with UV killer.

Maybe even sew in some cord loops on the outside, seam seal them for brushing in.

Go for it. Brush it in real good, and you will be much more comfortable on those rainy - snowy days. Good luck!

Thank you grampy. I sat here and drew up plans to get it done and it is actually doable. The only issue is the inside of the tent. Same woodland camo as the outside. Have to look into a nylon spray on die to black out the inside.
