Going to miss this

Really going to miss this american chestnut, at leat a bushel of nuts every year but you can see one side is dead already from blight, and rest is soon to follow, can't beat it for attracting all kinds of game. From.grouse to deer...at least I think I'll be able to get 1 saw log out of trunk 12 in x 10 ft. And make something nice out of it..

There was one about the same size on my Dad's property that produced nuts for quite a few years before the blight finally got it...

Fortunately I have quite a few other that are still producing ,but this is 2nd tree I've lost to blight, they grow back readily from roots but my 2 best trees both gone. In 2 years..
