Hunting in 3F and 3G .....No Rifles other than shotguns?

So I'm looking around on the DEC site at fur bearers and small game stuff. It said that small game and fur bearers default to the local regulations for that area. Now I'm totally confused....

 

So in Dutchess County they only allow bow, crossbow, muzzle loader, shotgun, and handgun for regular deer season. Ok, I can work with that. What if I'm out hunting squirrels that means I cant use my .22 during regular deer season in dutchess? Or do these regulations only pertain to Deer hunting?

You CAN use the .22 for squirrels in Dutchess County. It is perfectly legal.

When it's not deer season of any kind, you can use a rifle for furbearers.
