TC G2 scope

  I just brought a Thompson contender with a 223 and 30-30 I want to put scopes on both any one have any thoughts on what i should get

Im assuming its handgun you are looking for. None of the Redfields have the long eye relief you need with a handgun. I have been doing research for my Encore and came up with a few choices.

Leupold has one or two I think and there are a few others as well, but those three seem to give you the best bang for the buck. I wish Vortex had something.

well its going to be a big change from hunting with a 30-06 rifle with a scope i will find out in 310 days

what kind of rings should i get low or go higher?

Mine are low, if you want to get a holster and have it fit well, keep them as low as you can. I have regular Weavers on mine, but when I go to a new scope, Im going to go with the Leupold twist lock rings, based on some advice I recently got. Heres what mine looks like with the low rings.

why put a scope on the 30/30?

its a cowboy gun ;D  way to fun to shoot with the iron sights.

Im not sure what one it is, it was on there when I bought it. Ill have to look and see if it says on it anywhere.

Youre Welcome. I thought of doing the same thing, getting a 30-30 barrel for mine because I have a 30-30 rifle, but I havnet bought another barrel for it yet. I dont know if this is your first handgun for hunting, but once you get it put together, put in all the practice time you can.

ya this my first for hunting bi shot my frends fathers on the last day of our deer camp.he wants to buy an auto so i let him shoot mine.then he gave me his tc with a 35 rem and i fell in love with it and something new to try

Nice, sounds alot like how I came to buy one, fell in love with my buddy's TC and just had to get my own. Id like to get a .223 barrel for mine just to use for practice. The .260 Rem rounds arent exactly cheap and a .223 has got to have less recoil lol.

got upstate this weekend got to shoot both barrels. i put bushnell 2.5 to 6 on both barrels and bore sighted them. could not sight them in to much snow but i was hiting a can at 30yds free hand
