Settings for following threads

Sorry if this is out there somewhere but I couldn't locate it. I'm new to the forum and everything I post in automatically adds to my following list and notifies me. I found how to remove them but is there a way to turn this off? I want to be able to opt into following a thread not have to opt out of it. It's blowing up my email.

Not sure but ........

1) Go to your profile

2) Settings

3) My Notifications

4) then to Notification Preferences 

 

You can then change what Notifications you want to add or delete
