Oriole Feeder

Recommended Posts

I wasn't having much luck with the traditional Oriole feeder with the orange mix . I would hardly ever see the Orioles . Saw a feeder a friend had and decided to make one .

Bought an 88 cent plastic plate at Wally World . Drilled a hole in the middle . Cut a piece of broken rake handle about 7" long and drilled a small pilot hole in each end for screws . Attached the wooden piece to the plate with a screw and put a small screw hook on the other end . Attached 3 small plastic cups to the plate . Drilled several holes in the plate for water to run off . Put Grape Jelly in the small containers and hung it up on a post . The Orioles keep coming back but a robin goes for the jelly as well as a woodpecker and some starlings .
