G-Man
Well the drought has caused the oaks hickory and apples to self prune their fruit and nuts.. what looked to be a good year lis looking dismal. Food plots severely stunted due to lack of water. At.least established clover fields are looking good.. gonna have to find hidden pocket near spring and hunt fields if it greens up later this summer.. mast is looking as a no show..
growalot
I have several apple looking good...but the oaks have been dropping pea sized acorns all summer...just a few are OK and have a small mast..no pears, no peaches, and cherries(choke). Looks to be a banner year for berries...all berries and the grapes have enough I'll be making juice. This years plots so far are dismal...but the upper plot is trying hard to recover...hoping for banner crop of pumpkins acorn, and melons(that's the garden/plot) I have all of that in my fenced regular garden as well. So most will go to the critters...I am praying for a cool wet fall...for I left a lot of ground for fall plots...they have most WW eaten now and I will over seed the poor areas of summer crops with turnips. I need to fill all the watering tanks after this next rain. Oh we may have a good beech nut and hop horn drop...the deer here will stand on their hind legs for 30 mins just to eat hop horn droops...It's sorta comical to watch
