growalot
Well one takes that into consideration...and avoids shots where shite might hit the fan....I have never left a deer over night...save 2...one was a deer search the other ,lesson learned with yote getting it....You get use to eyes glowing yards away while gutting, after the first one. I would guess most would avoid them however no one is perfect and we all know it doesnt take a lot to put an arrow off target even by a couple inches. My point being that I dont think temperature is a reason to hunt in the am. I would much rather have cooler weather ahead of me than behind me. Not only the potential for something to go wrong and having to back out but the less urgency to process the deer right after to avoid spoilage. Been bowhunting for 26 years now and have only 2 myself go haywire, even so the thought is always there that it could happen again.
growalot
Each to their own...when temps in early season at night can still be in the 50's and 60's until the wee hours of the next morning...either way processing is urgent... When my first deer will be going to Wilsons the day it"s shot...cool morning temps and day light, coupled with Wilson's actually being open. I'll take the morning..again fly's..Yep 50/60 at night..there has always been fly's even at night. As far as the thought "it could happen"...great to have during my practice sessions....when I'm in the field drawing down on a deer that thought has no business being in my head. The only shots that should ever be taken are the ones you do with complete confidence nothing less..IMO

After removing the hide I wrap in a game bag it is similar to a cheese cloth. It allows the carcass to cool and breathe while keeping flys off it. I highly recommend those hanging fly strips too they help with flys when the garage door is shut. I haven't had too big a problem with flies when hanging the deer, I usually let it hang overnight then I process it allows the carcass to cool before butchering. I have never had the meat spoil on me with a overnight hang. I wash the bag in the washing machine with a light amount of bleach. Granted it gets stained but I want it sterile when I put it back on. Here is a link to the bag https://www.amazon.com/Allen-Big-Game-Quartering-4-Pk/dp/B00GVLMK4G
growalot
Lol...I have a bag of them..I use 2 per deer when hanging...I do not have an indoor place here to hang deer..when answering original post it was with the hitting Wilson's in mind and deer processes for jerky...not the usual good cuts / hung deer I do in cold weather. This year I'm also pressure canning one deer...garden has filled freezers.
