shenders
Anybody do any scouting. How does the bird situation look after all the snow this year
NYBowhunter
Turkey numbers have always been high by me, no shortage of them. Not sure how they faired this year, however they are pretty smart and stay close to the farms and pick out corn from the manure that is spread out in the fields by farmers. I had flock of 13 come right under my stand when I was rifle hunting and I had 2 huge toms that I saw many times during the bow season. Now only if I can find the time in May to hunt. growalot
Turkeys here don't usually flock up in big #'s unless in a food plot with poults...but they tend to stay in small groups...we have 3 on the property right now...this group of 3 hens and 2 Toms came through just now ...in the Succraseed plot...then followed the deer off the field to the next property...Sorry I was in the house and had high zoom on...pic quality not good and very grey out....The more food plots I plant ...the more critter we have

growalot
Thanks...I go through this every year...they show up to eat what ever they are scratching up out there...a month before the season opens and then they are gone....It takes me half a month and a lot of moving around to get them into range...but hens...they come in and walk around me ..usually make such a fuss I have a hard time not laughing out loud...but alas it all just makes the hunt more fun Good Luck to you as well
