Moultrie 888 and Primos Gen 2 01

Both cams $100 shipped and both work great. Moultrie has about 2.5 mos of use and 3k photos snapped. Primos 4 mos. and about 1,200 photos snapped.

what does this mean? do trailcams have a certain life span or something? all my primos are starting to carp out on me.

Trail camera manufacturers do test to breakage for the most part. Like anything else that has moving parts, breakage will eventually occur. The majority of cameras will fail because of other issues such as moisture entry, electrical issues, etc. But as a rule, I wouldn't buy a camera if it's had really high pic count for its age - usually those are cameras set out over feeders or mineral licks and sit there just taking pic after pic and are in the elements year-round.
