First Tom

Walked out to this one field where i usually see some turkeys and tried calling and nothing so i walk out and this huge tom looks at me and runs. So, i loop around get down and set up and call to him and he finally starts gobbling. Once i knew he was coming in i stopped calling and he struted right in and i could not see how big he was but i took a chance and shot. dropped him on the spot and turns out he has a 9 inch beard and weighs 19  lbs 8 ounces with 1 inch spurs. Ill post pics later.

I shot my first turkey 3 years ago bow hunting for deer just a little hen. I shot 2 jakes last may now this guy. Almost got a nice Tom yesterday for my buddy but he was hened up
