That sounds logical.I will have to pay more attention to size although it is sometimes difficult to judge if the animal is bloated.I too have noticed deer carcasses left to decompose,the only benefit of that might possibly be more acceptance of hunting by society.

Getting back to the storm, I'm having an estimate for an extension on the cabin. 16 x 20 with a full basement/storm cellar.
