Permethrin and deet uses-smell deter deer?

OK, I'm guessing this must have been dealt with before, but I haven't seen anything on point.  So...

On my (newly acquired) property in Greene County there is a "creek" (aka a swampy area mostly), and a lot of brush near it.  I'm setting up cameras this weekend, but I'm guessing there will be deer (I have 200 acres untouched behind me).  I want to do a small amount of clearing, for access, visibility, etc.  Was thinking of spraying permethrin (SFR) a few days before heading in with chain saw and machete.  Question - does anyone have any thoughts on whether this could deter deer from the immediate area?  This is not Sawyers, this is the kind of permethrin mixture used for foliage.  

Also... I haven't faced this in the past, as I was only shooting rifles, but my son and I now have our bow license.  So we'll be starting early (Oct 1, obviously).  So, in addition to permethrin treated clothes (in this case, yes, Sawyers), I was thinking we may need to use deet on exposed skin.  What is the thinking on whether deet scares off deer?

Obviously, we will try to remain downwind.  But one doesn't control the wind...

I use the permethrin Sawyers and just wear thin long sleeve clothing. Also wear a loose face mask when i hunt by the creek and its warm to keep mosquitoes away. I would think if a deer smells the deet you put on skin they would have smelled you anyway. If you think it will be that bad look into a thermacell.

Thanks for the replies.  I definitely use permethrin on clothes that I wear in the woods (hunting and otherwise).  It doesn't really have an odor when dried.  But the SFR does (has petroleum distillates as inert contents).  As for the deet, yeah, I guess that's right - if they smell the deet, they would have smelled me anyway.  (Although I use that no-odor spray stuff.)
