have a buddy coming out in late sept for some fishing for a weekend Sept 22-23, and we are going to fish for eyes in Oneida .  But am thinking if that west wind kicks us off we need a backup plan.  How is Otisco for fall eyes and browns?  any info appreciated.  We have another possible idea for a backup on a small local lake but would like to have a trout option and dont have a lot of local trout lakes.  Been eyeing otisco a little. Have fished it before for bass and tigers and did ok.  In late sept will the browns be real deep ?

I've never fished in in the fall but I have caught some slammer eyes and small mouth in there. I would think unless we get a cool down, water temps will still be up a bit and the brown will still be down, but the lake is only 70' deep. Not sure if you have down riggers or not but if you don't it would be a good lake to run some dipsies on.

We have a dipsy we are trying out this weekend.   And I have lead core setups.  I can get get down to about 35 I would think.  Have heard there is some nice eyes in there.  Thought it would be a neat thing to troll for eyes and browns.  Thanks

I have caught them in the 9 - 10 pound range.
