Midday Hunting

I basically won't bother with it anymore. I won't say never, but if it's two hours past sunrise I'm getting real antsy these days. Deer slow right within 90 minutes after sunset in my limited experience. If any driving involved (always is), I would not bother hunting midday.

This...until you have kids...then you make a thread about it.

You have my sympathy on finding hunting time with kids. I have a couple old enough now I can leave them at home if necessary, so it's getting slightly easier to do this sort of thing.

Oh and believe it or not I saw enough deer yesterday that I bet they would have been moving all day. I actually wish I had sat all day, despite what I said earlier :)

Ah. I realize it sounds incredibly hypocritical, and even ironic perhaps, but I have a slot open today I could hunt between about 11 and 3. The very, very worst time to try and hunt.

But I'm off this afternoon and the weather is crap this weekend. Seriously inclined to get out there even if just to sit and watch squirrels. Hour drive each way, though!
