Two Robbins tending one nest

So awhile back a nest was built on a light by our patio . And I watched two Robbins come and go sitting on it , the eggs hatched and a couple weeks later the hatchlings flew off .

Then a couple weeks after , adult Robbins were again sitting on the nest , today I saw hatchlings, and at one point had two adult birds feeding them at the same time .

Most often one would fly off the nest and the second would swoop down off a branch and take its place on the nest,  very odd .

Did they each lay eggs there ? Or perhaps a lesbian couple ....

The males very much participate in the nestbuilding and rearing of the nestlings. They can hatch out a few broods every year as well.
