Just saw this I did a lot of research last year before buying a Chevy equinox the thing to look at is the 10 speed transmission there crap!!! I’ve had the equinox (6speed 4 cylinder)for over a year now and don’t have any complaints other then the cheap tires. The Chevy Cruze was high on my list but I needed more room for my gear.

I wouldn't. Personally I own two kinds of vehicles:

New, under lease vehicle (brand doesn't matter).

Toyota.
 

If you can stretch into a Rav4 (I realize it's more pricey than the trax and unfortunately the CH-R isn't AWD yet), you'll have a high value vehicle for years to come and no problems at all.
