Very late hatch.

Was mowing a client small field today, and with just a couple swipes left, a hen a 5-6 poults flushed.  The poults were no larger than a quail.  Never seen poults this small this late in the yr. 

Unless we have a mild winter, or a full bird feeder to visit, I doubt they will make it through the winter.

I also hunt this area. Maybe I'll see them throughout the season.
