I got a Matthews Genesis when i was young. I used it solely for target shooting, and now I'm interested in

hunting.

Can the Genesis be adjusted for a hunt?

Highly doubt it, i think that max weight on that is like 20 lbs right?  It's a youth bow, so depending how old you are, I am pretty sure you out grew that.

Yeah the weights about 20 lbs. Just wondering whats a good bow to start hunting with, that won't hurt the wallet.

I was referring to the draw weight, 20 lb isnt going to cut it.

But there are a bunch of nice low budget bows, but it depends on your budget.  Stuff adds up after u get the bow... Arrows, release, sight, etc...

My advice would be to go to different shops that handle used bows and shoot as many of them as you can before you plunk down your money. Unless you have $500 to $1000 to burn, theres no reason to spend that for your first setup, heck you dont even know if youll stick with it. My first setup was a decent older PSE that came with all the accessories. I ended up putting a new sight and rest on it and in total I had maybe $300 into it. It served me well for 4 years before I bought a new bow.
