NY Region 3 Trapper
Always seems to be a healthy population of grouse in 4H. Got two last weekend. Shame I have to travel 2 hours to get to 4H when I have almost 18,000 acres or state land within seconds of my home and not one grouse. Good for the local economy I guess. In 4F we have seen tons of Grouse....they are constantly scaring the crap out of me when I walk to my stands in the dark..Dont feel to bad a 2 hour hike is a hop skip and a jump compared to my 3 1/2 hr. drive to get to my camnp in 4F.....The things we do for hunting....lol...Take advantage of the grouse population they are definately on an upward swing, think it has to do with alot of timber harvesting....which is opening up some prime grouse habitat.
