According to the Adirondack Daily Enterprise newspaper:

"The main forest ranger for the Eastern High Peaks Wilderness shot himself in the leg during a training exercise in Warren County Friday afternoon.

"Jim Giglinto, 47, accidently fired his handgun into his thigh while trying to holster the weapon, state Department of Environmental Conservation spokesman Michael Bopp said.

"The bullet exited the thigh, and the wound is considered minor, Bopp said."
