WNYBuckHunter
I am going to be improving the base of my Fox mount over the winter, and was wondering where you guys get the fake earth, leaves, plants, grasses, etc for doing mounts. What I am going to do is to box the bottom board in with some nice, stained oak, then add fake dirt, leaves and some grasses to make it look realistic. I will also be adding my archery buck's skull with antlers after the beetles are done with it, along with the empty brass that I killed the fox with. I think it will look nice when I get done. Heres what it looks like now. Something along the lines of this base is what Im trying to do
SteveNY
Pet store. You can use wood chips (instead of dirt) over the existing base and just hot glue them all down. The wood chips look nice, great color, and smell good too! (atleast for a few weeks). The fake plants and grass and moss, etc can be found at a pet shop too.
