What tags do you use during the gun season? Just like Westchester Co.? The DEC Hunting guide spells what tags to use in Bow only counties but it is vague on shotgun counties and bow only areas.

Can you use your Bow/MZ tags during the regular gun season? Let us know, Thanks.

during archery you use your archery tag.

during regular season, you use the big game tag or the dmp tag.

I don't think you can use the Bow/MZ cause it isn't Bow/MZ season...this is speculation of course

Thanks for clearing that up for me! What confused me was the fact that Westchester Co. can use whatever tag (Bow/MZ/Gun) during regular season. Which means doe or a buck, even if you don't have DMP tag for the area.

right, because westchester archery is still open, and the tag says bow/ML........but a bow/ML tag cant be used in putnam right now because neither season is open.
