2 doe? all I saw was the back ends through the trees...and a coyote. More deer in my neighborhood than in the woods!

Was out yesterday! saw two deer briefly way off in the woods, no chance for a shot. During the downpoor which according to the news wasn't supposed to come later in the day, I kicked up a coyote. Thought about it but what would I do with a dead coyote?

I've seen deer running all over, back yards, across busy roads. Yesterday, I saw a doe and a 6 pointer in the woods behind a local hardware store which was busy as all heck selling christmas trees and what not. this was about noon. Ticks are still out!

I haven't been out yet...tomarrow rain or shine!!!

during archery you use your archery tag. during regular season, you use the big game tag or the dmp tag. I don't think you can use the Bow/MZ cause it isn't Bow/MZ season...this is speculation of course

I was recently diagnosed with Lymes disease...is there any tick repellant with deet that is friendly to wear in the woods and wont scare off the deer? It is still warm and ticks are still out there! I can get re-infected and I am not dealing with this Lyme sh*t again!

When during the season should you use them and when not to? I have always been curious and how long shoul you rattle? 5 secs? and how often?

I am not aware of any 'special" permits for individual towns in westchester. The only thing I can think of is a few county parks like Muscoot require a permit and a test so wherever you are in Bedford, may also require that. Also if you hunt on Watershed property you need a permit from the DEP. your lucky with private land! California was very overgrown also! I have only been hunting putnam for the past 2 seasons with little success...bucks? what are they? mostly see doe's

i usually spend time at California hill or Big Buck. I think I may spend more time at Big Buck this year? How about you guys?
