nybuckboy
I have an older model 70 Winchester in 270 caliber that chambers a 270 Weatherby Magnum. It is an XTR Sporter probably from the 60's. Is this gun rare or scarce and what do think it's worth in good condition? jusputtn
There seems to be more of a desire for "pre "64 Winchesters". There are some features such as a positive feed claw extractor on the earlier models. http://www.shootersforum.com/rifles-rifle-cartridges/39615-winchester-model-70-build-date.html This link has year/serial number listings in one of the posts. Outside of that, you should be able to google and get an idea of what it's worth.
Single_shot
I have dealt with the guys over at the Winchester collectors forum a few times, they know very well about this sort of thing and are quick to respond usually. http://winchestercollector.org/
