BigGuyNY
I am heading to South Carolina in a few weeks for a wild boar hunt. Being that I haven't done this before, I was looking for some tips/hints from anyone with some experience. Thanks.
Early
Can't give you any tips, but I surely will be waiting your after-hunt posts about cooking/eating one of those wild porkers!
erussell
Canned hunt or wild? Ive hunted them in LA. and they are pretty easy to hunt. Just find the freshest sign and start following it. Wont be long till you hear them a squeeling and carrying on. Then you just shoot all of them. They have a bad habit of being in the nastiest stuff they can find and are pretty tough so a large caliber is suggested if you are going after the bigger ones. One suggestion I have is before you shoot one lift there leg and check to see if its a bore or a sow. I highly suggest only shooting the sow's to eat. Bores taste like urine. BigGuyNY
erussel, it's a wild hunt and I am going to use a 30.06. If I am successful I will attempt to take one with my bow. Thanks for the information. Edited February 20, 2012 by BigGuyNY

I ment there meat smells like urine while its cooking and tastes awefull. I really need to stop typing so early in the morning.
Skillet
How was the boar hunt?
BigGuyNY
The hunting was on the slow side, out of 12 of us we took 7 hogs. I believe 2 or 3 missed their shots. Food was excellent.
